How often do you think about the problem of environmental pollution? I’m sure, not so often that to take legal measures to combat it. One of the main environmental threats is the use of plastic bags, since due to their long decomposition (complete decomposition of plastic bags occurs only after hundreds of years) under the influence of water and wind, fish and birds can take this for food, which leads to their painful death.
According to the world public organization "For Nature", it is known that more than 100 thousand whales, seals, and turtles die from plastic bags only in Newfoundland every year. Therefore, the use of plastic bags raises serious objections of environmentalists.
For this reason, every year more and more countries support the idea of limiting or prohibiting the use of packages or introducing new replacement package products. Now in more than 40 countries around the world have introduced various bans on the turnover of plastic bags. In Germany, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Uzbekistan it is prohibited to give them out in stores for free, and in the USA, China, Italy, Australia, Pakistan, Georgia and Kenya, a complete ban on their use, sale, production and import has been introduced.
Also in our time, alternative types of packaging, the so-called eco-bags, are being actively promoted. The advantages of cloth bags are, first of all, no harm to the environment, and such bags are considered more capacious and durable than ordinary plastic bags.
Also, cardboard boxes introduced in many Asian countries, including South Korea, are also analogues of harmless food packaging in stores. In order to protect the environment, instead of plastic packages, shops issue free boxes, making residents think about the environment more seriously.
Another good substitute for polyethylene is the so-called bio-packages, which are safe for the environment. However, today there is the main reason for the low popularity of bio-packages - their cost (with a paid price for a plastic bag, its biodegradable analogue from corn starch will cost 6 times more). But despite this, they are still very popular.
Today, Kazakhstan enters the ranks of the above-mentioned countries in the fight against pollution, and already after 2025 it is promised to introduce a complete ban on the sale of plastic bags, which is undoubtedly a good start in protecting the environment.
What do you think about this and can you imagine your life without using plastic bags?

I like your article, it is really important topic to discuss.
ОтветитьУдалитьIn my imagination, future without plastic bags looks like using of different eco-bags or paper bags. I hope it will be possible. I tried to start to separate plastic from other rubbish, but it was really difficult, because my family thought it doesn't make big impact to our environment.
Also, recently I saw interesting video in Instagram about a girl who invented bio-plastic bags from fish scales and seaweeds. Did you hear about that?
Thanks for your post!
Thank you for your positive comment! Your attempt to do something useful is already a good premise for protecting our environment. After all, if we want to change something for the better, we must begin first with ourselves!
